答案选C。意思是小狗时不时会跳起来……。冒昧的说一下，本人觉得二楼的解释太过于生搬硬套了，而且选B的话语句欠缺通顺。

不是C，选B。A是整体来说，总体上；B是最初，起先；C是有时，偶尔；D是结果。

从意思上先排除A和C，要是选D的意思的话应该是as a result of。
