　　大堂奉祀的是赫赫有名的圣彼得。建筑富有西班牙宗教色彩，外形庄严纯洁，内部精丽巧饰，曾存有不少天主教遗物及古迹。教堂雄伟的祭坛下，掩埋了一些古墓，贾耐劳、华年达、嘉沙尔等十六、十七世纪时的主教的骨殖或遗体，都葬在大堂内。而一些宗教名画如《圣约翰受洗图》、《日本天主教徒在长崎被钉十字架图》等多祯，也曾保存於大堂内。
