A will go on a business trip by air. He is checking in his baggage now at the counter. He has one luggage and one suitcase. B is checking them. A's luggage is 3 kilos overweight, so he has to pay for it.
2. You are from Xi'an Food Import & Export Corporation and ask Mr. Smith about the journey and accompany him to the hotel. One the way to hotel, you and Mr.Smith talk about the weather first and then the development of Xi'an in recent years. You can talk about a lot of things to keep the conversation going.
3. Mr. Smith, an English businessman, made a reservation three weeks ago. At the Reception Desk of the Xi'an Hotel, the receptionist helps him with the hotel registration.
4. You are to invite Mr. Johnson, the representative of ABC Company, to a farewell dinner, which is to be held at seven o' clock, Friday evening, at the Xi'an Hotel.

Student B: This is your first time to visit China. You are not sure whether you can choose a deal or not. The good you want to purchase are bedclothes. After going over the catalogues, you find some items very attractive. So you ask a lot of questions.
8. At a fair, you are selling green tea, which enjoys great popularity. A businessman from Japan is very keen on it. You offer is USD22 per kilogram, the discussion starts from an inquiry and proceed to an offer, and finally you settle on a price and date of delivery.
9. Mr. Smith, a businessman from England, is in a negotiation with you about purchasing woollen sweaters. Everything has been going quite well except the problem of payment. As his order is big enough, you finally agree to 50% by L/C and the rest by D/P at sight. You make clear to him the process and procedures of such terms of payment.
10. Student A, a Chinese businessman, works in Garment Import & Export Corporation. Student B, a merchant from England. B intends to purchase some China-made silk cloth and asks for prompt delivery. A negotiates with B and agrees to effect shipment in three months.
