1.Welcome to the Beauty Factory! It is a place where dreams really do come true. Your dream is to become the world's top designer of beauty products, and a giant in the cosmetics industry.

2.To succeed, you'll have to keep coming up with new products that are popular with the public. This way you will be able to compete with other companies trying to get a bite of the market pie.

要想达到成功的话，你一定要不断拿出深受广大市民欢迎的新产品。这样，你将能够与其他公司分享市场。

3.Right now you're in the Research & Development laboratory, where you'll create new beauty products. Among others, you'll create new fragrances for perfumes.

现在你位于研发实验室，在这里你将创造新的美容产品。其中，你将创造新气味的香水。

4.The unique fragrance of a perfume is created by carefully mixing extracts from three different sources: flowers, plants, and fruit. You must get the proportions just right!

5.The information panel on the bottom onscreen menu shows what combination is currently enjoying success.

6.Click on the plus and minus signs to adjust the proportions between extracts in your new fragrance. Use the TEST button to get a forecast of its popularity with the public. Your new perfume should score at least 80% in the test to be considered a success.

7.Excellent! Remember that a higher score means higher potential sales of your new perfume.

8.Now that you know how new fragrances are created, you should find out how they are made. Click on the PRODUCTION button.

9.This is the Beauty Factory production hall, where cosmetics are manufactured and packaged. You can repaint the production hall and upgrade it to a higher production capacity by clicking the icons next to the PRODUCTION button.

10.The production hall is where you set weekly production levels for your beauty products. Production should always equal or exceed demand. Current demand for a selected product is displayed on the bottom onscreen menu.

11.Demand for your cosmetics will grow if you continue to create exciting new products. Demand will fall if the public does not like your creations, or if people cannot buy your products.

12.To satisfy current market demand, set production orders to 10 units.

13.The production process has started! Weekly production costs are shown right next to the production orders.

14.The sum of all weekly expenses is shown at the top of the screen.

15.The amount of beauty products currently in your warehouse is displayed on the bottom onscreen menu. If you don't manage to sell everything or you produce too many units, the surplus will be stored in the warehouse.

16.A special icon in the upper left screen corner confirms ongoing production of the selected beauty product.

17.Now click on the "Next Week" button to see what's going to happen next.

18.Wonderful! You have stock in your warehouse, and a new animated icon confirms it's being shipped to retail outlets today! You can expect payment the next week.

19.Remember that if the formulation misses the expectatilns of the customers you will sell only a part of the shipment.

20.Remember - if your new product isn't liked by the public, sales will be lower than expected! Don't forget to adjust production orders to changing market demand.

21.As you already know, your product's success is largely determined by the formula you invented. However, you can also improve product sales through smart marketing. Let's visit the sales and marketing department...

22.Running an advertising campaign for a selected product will improve its sales. A bigger advertising budget means a bigger sales boost.

23.Set the advertising budget by adjusting weekly funding. Spending more increases the effectiveness of your advertising. However, because advertising is so expensive, for now set funding to 0(no advertising).

24.You can also increase sales by lowering the product price. And once your sales are strong, you can always try to charge a little more...

25.Now, set the price to $18 in order to obtain profits of at least 20%.

26.In report you can check how your sales are going. If sales are poor, you'll see customer feedback indicating why.

27.Important game events are announced by special notes that appear in the top menu bar. For example, you may be told that you've completed a mission - or that a new mission is available. You will be completing many missions during a successful career!

28.The OBJECTIVES progress bar in the top menu tracks your progress when playing in Career mode. Completing primary career missions fills the progress bar. Occasionally, you'll also be presented with secondary missions; complete them to win important prizes.
