英语作文“HowtostudyEnglish”

The reason why I write such an
article here is at the request of some friends, students and net friends in
daily life. It doesn’t mean that I have the enough qualifications for teaching
English or showing off my English, but just talk some personal experience of my
English study for more than ten years. I hope it can be of a little help for
those who ask me such a question.

First, I must emphasis interest.
As we all know, interest is the best teacher. For English study, it is also
essential and the most important thing. If you are not interested in learning
English, you can’t be a qualified English-learner. Meanwhile, you can’t study
English well or master English without interest. I am a little lucky because
English was my favorite subject even when I first touched it, and with the great
help of several excellent English teachers in middle-school and college, I had
laid a solid foundation for future study in English. So try your best to develop
your feeling, your love and your interest in English, only this can you study
English well.

I always think that study is a
hard task for our human beings, especially for the young because they haven’t
enough perseverance and they can’t arrange their time properly. But for English
study, we should keep in mind an old proverb: practice makes perfect. It sounds
really outdated, but it is still important and effective for learning English.
English is a just a tool for communication, so we should learn it as a language,
not a subject. We should practice it as much as possible on any occasion
including speaking, listening, reading, writing and translating. Only in this
way can we learn the most natural English and improve our English more
quickly.

We can say that there is no
shortcut in English study, but we still can find some effective methods or
skills for learning it. For many English learners, they have interest and they
do a lot of practice, but they still can’t get the satisfactory result. Why?
Maybe they are short of learning methods or skills. But there is no all-purpose
method or skill for different English learners, and you should find and choose
your own. For example, I used Special VOA tapes for correcting my pronunciation
and intonation, and I really benefited a lot from this kind of imitations during
my four-year study at college. For oral English, I recited a lot of famous or
classical paragraphs and articles which helped me a lot and can be changed into
my own expressions when I talk. For written English, I developed a good habit of
writing English diary from middle-school. I wrote anything I was interested or
something I should keep in memory in English everyday since I could write
English. At first, I can only write some sentences, but later a whole and
logical article step by step. So if you can find the best way for your English
study, just keep it until you can turn it into your habit. I am sure you can
learn English well by your own way and your perseverance.

To sum up, you should enjoy your
English study and devote yourself to it. Anyway, English is becoming more and
more important in our life whether you work, study or enlarge your eyesight. And
remember that big interest plus studious practice plus your own efficient method
equals to great success in English study.
