高分求高手，以what makes us happy为主题的英文演讲稿

What makes us happy? Different people will have different answers. Being rich, close friends, playing sports, a stable family life, healthy, school life, or even good food, you name it. However, in my opinion, as far as a teenager is concern, it is the sense of recognition by others.

We live in our environment and are largely influenced by it: our family, our friends, our school and our community. Human beings live in groups. We care very much about what others are doing and how others see us. We try to be one of us in order to be harmony and comfortable. This is what we want.

Whatever we do, we want others to appreciate and say good words to us. Then, we feel happy. When we do something but someone says that it is no good, we feel sad.

We have close friends. We have the same values and behave and see things similarly. And, that's why we become close friends!

Do you know why nowadays teenagers want famous brands? Do you know why they want to showoff? Because other people in the community are doing so. If they do not behave the same, they are afraid that they will be discriminated or push aside. Then, they feel unhappy. They may not really want those famous brands, but just influenced by the atmosphere that they have to do so in order to be one of them.

This is what I meant by sense of recognition.
