From my own point of view, I don't really appreciate such kind of contest. First, I feel it is completely a waste of time to vote for the contestants over and over to make them go through the next round using SMS, since I can't see any reasons why should I vote. And voting really cost a lot and the one who truly benefits from this kind of voting is the TV station which holds the contests, as they charge the viewers from the voting. Secondly, the majority of the contestants are rather unprofessional. Watching their clumsy performance is really a pain for me. And thirdly, nearly all of them will eventually fail since there is only one winner at last, what is the point to devote any them there if you know you can hardly win?
