in which定语从句

我想问下在定语从句中，in which是不是等于why啊？是不是有的时候不等于啊？

1. 的确，in which可以等于when，也可以等于where，但不会等于why.
关键是看定语从句中缺少时间状语还是地点状语。

2. 例如：
1）I'll never forget these days in/during which I stayed with you.
= I'll never forget these days when I stayed with you.
我永远不会忘记我和你待在一起的日子。
其中：in/during which I stayed with you = when I stayed with you
= I stayed with you in/during which = I stayed with you in/during these days
2）This is the city in which I stayed last year.
= This is the city where I stayed last year.
这就是那个去年我待的地方。
其中：where I stayed last year = in which I stayed last year
= I stayed in which last year = I stayed in the city last year.

3. 另外，有的in which找不到合适的关系副词代替。
如：I dislike the way in which you treat me.
我不喜欢你对待我的方式。
其中：in which you treat me = you treat me in which
= you treat me in the way

4. for which = why
如：Can you tell me the reason why you were late?
= Can you tell me the reason for which you were late?
你能告诉我你迟到的原因吗？
其中：why you were late = for which you were late
= you were late for which = you were late for the reason

in which相当于where，或在... In which direction does it turn? 它是顺哪个方向转动的？ In which box? Guess! The blue box? 在哪个盒子里？猜！蓝色的盒子？ To heaven recent distance in which? 离天堂最近的距离在哪吗？ We live in a Universe in which there are laws. 我们生活在一个由“规律”所支配的宇宙中。 In which direction are you going, north or south? 你准备往哪个方向走？向北还是向南？ I enjoy sports in which people compete for prizes. 我喜欢人们为了奖品而比赛的运动。 Behavior is a mirror in which everyone shows his image. 行为举止是每个人展示自我形象的镜子。 for what 才是why

定语从句中关系副词（when \why\where等）=介词+which 由as, which 引导的非限定性定语从句，as和which可代整个主句，相当于and this或and that。as一般放在句首，which在句中。 as常与从句中的know，see， hear，expect等动词连用，还有用于the same as , such as 等句型中，也常用于as often happens，as is often the case（常有的事）等句子中；而which一般不用于以上情况。 as有“正如”的含义，which没有此含义。 if 不能引导定语从句。它能引导状语从句和宾语从句。
