历史和气候现象
瑞安为东瓯古邑，最早于新石器晚期，飞云江下游两岸已有先民繁衍生息，建立聚落。夏、商、西周、春秋为扬州之域瓯地。其后受时局变化，朝代更迭，行政所属动荡变化，直到三国吴赤乌二年（公元239年），始建县治，迄今为止已有1750多年的悠久历史。
建县之始，县名罗阳，吴宝鼎三年（268年）被更名安阳县，晋太康元年（280年）改称安固县，唐天复二年（902）年有白鸟栖于集云阁，以为祥瑞，遂改名瑞安。元成宗元贞元年（1295年）瑞安县升为瑞安州，明洪武元年（1368年）复为瑞安县。
1949年5月瑞安解放，建立瑞安县人民政府。
1987年4月撤县设市，称瑞安市。1992年在城关镇东开辟安阳新区，设置安阳新区管委会，为市直属单位。1999年，市政府由城关镇搬迁至此。
2001年调整行政区划，将原属瑞安市的仙岩、丽岙、梅头三镇划归温州市。
瑞安市全境属亚热带海洋型季风气候，全年无严寒酷暑，冬短夏长，四季分明，雨水充沛。瑞安季风气候明显，夏季多东南偏东风，冬季多西北偏西风.
乡风名俗
瑞安民俗的特色颇多，有喜庆、谣祀、信巫、崇佛、敬鬼等习俗。和全国各地一样，春节是最热闹的传统节日，从年底到第二年春天，相继有捣糖糕、祭灶神、贴春联、拜年、闹元宵、接春等体现了瑞安地方文化的节目活动。
瑞安民俗中巫祀之风盛行，相传东瓯王的敬鬼而寿沿习俗千年。
一年中还有二月二，吃芥菜饭；五月初五前后七天划龙舟、七月七日向织女星乞求智巧的“乞巧节”九月九日以糕点作礼物赠送的登高节；冬至吃汤圆俗称“冬节”，此外还有滚龙、插香球、捣攀梁、糖金奶等民俗活动。

位于瑞安市的东部沿海，地理位置优越，交通运输便利，离瑞安市区8公里，距温州机场30公里，104国道、甬台温高速公路和建设中的温福铁路均穿境而过，是全国小城镇综合改革和温州市小城市改革建设试点镇 。
汀田镇
在明嘉靖时属清泉乡八都。1931年分属汀川，厚
泽两乡；1935年，属汀董乡。1943年属汀田、厚
学两乡；1948年与董田乡合并为董吞乡；1949年
复置汀田乡；1958年称汀田管理区；1961年称汀
田人民公社；1985年从汀田乡中析置里学与大典
下两乡，1992年汀田、大典下、里学三乡合并，
改为汀田建制镇
该镇辖1个居民区（营兴）、30个行政村（汀十、汀一、汀二、汀三、汀四、汀五、汀六、汀七、汀八、汀九、金前、金后、山上陈、凤岙、繁里、荣里、富里、强里、建光、联光、宣前、宣中、联盟、寨下、联西、联余、香桥、联胜、联前、南潮）。
莘 塍 镇
浙江东南沿海城镇群中一座有较强区域辐射能力的工贸重镇，位于飞云江下游海滨冲积平原，距温州机场24公里，规划中的104国道改建公路穿境而过。全镇总面积35平方公里，常住人口8万多人，外来人口近5万人。
其实瑞安是一个很大的地方，不只市区可 以介绍，像某些小地方你也可以说的，有时候小地方吃的反而多而且美味。有时候我都去我以前读的初中门口去吃，那里摆摊的很多，像烧烤啊，珍珠奶茶，小蛋糕啊之类的很多，而且加起来也不到5元。很实惠，大家有兴趣的话可以来瑞安的小地方玩玩。。。
