研究中国海外发展史者,必先提及郑和.而600多年来,有关郑和下西洋的史料层出不穷,这些史料在不同时期有不同的特点,它是演变、转变而成的：从明中期人们对郑和下西洋的一知半解,初步认识；到明末清初脱颖而出,用多种表现形式来体现这一历史事件；再到清末更多观点的提出,成为中国海外活动的最伟大的事迹；近一百年来获得中外学者的一致认同,演变过程十分清晰可见.在这些史料中,有的确为历史真事,有的却是传闻和附会,也有的是无中生有的杜撰.本文就对郑和下西洋这一历史事件的后人记载做简要的介绍,按时间顺序对其相关的文献,官方著录,小说杂剧等各种形式的史料进行整理分析.从而反映出不用时代的人对于郑和下西洋文化的历史传承.
