知道越多越无知的英文课文原文

芝诺的知识圆圈说

人的知识就好比一个圆圈，圆圈里面是已知的，圆圈外面是未知的。你知道的越多，圆圈也就越大，你不知道的也就越多。

芝诺是古希腊的著名哲学家，是埃利亚派的代表人物，巴门尼德的学生和继承人。芝诺素有“悖论之父”之称，他有四个数学悖论一直传到今天。他曾经讲过一个“知识圆圈说”的故事。故事是这样的：一次，一位学生问芝诺：“老师，您的知识比我的知识多许多倍，您对问题的回答又十分正确，可是您为什么总是对自己的解答有疑问呢？”芝诺顺手在桌上画了一大一小两个圆圈，并指着这两个圆圈说：“大圆圈的面积是我的知识，小圆圈的面积是你们的知识。我的知识比你们多。这 两个圆圈的外面就是你们和我无知的部分。大圆圈的周长比小圆圈长，因此，我接触的无知的范围也比你们多。这就是我为什么常常怀疑自己的原因。”在这个故事中，芝诺把知识比作圆圈，生动地揭示了有知与无知的辩证关系。

这个故事表明：一个人有了一定的知识，接触和思考的问题越多，就越觉得有许多问题不明白，因而就越感到自己知识贫乏；相反，一个人缺乏知识，发现和思考问题的能力低，就越觉得自己知识充足。
其实，发现自己无知正是有知的表现，而骄傲自满则多半出自自己的无知。庄子不就说过吗？“我生而有涯，而知也无涯”。知识的海洋是浩瀚无际的，而人们已知的部分总是极为有限的。这正是圆圈内部与外部的关系一样，知识越渊博，所接触的未知面就越广泛 ，疑问也就越多。反之，知识越贫乏。接触的未知面就越狭窄，疑问自然也越少。只有什么也不懂，不学无术的人，才会感到自己的无知，岂不是最大的无知？

A motto is often heard or seen by us is "The more I learn ,the more ingnorant I find myself to be ".Some people think it is self-contradictory .But in my opinion ,it is quite correct.
When one has learned in a certain field for a period of time ,he will find it is more extensive and profound than what he thinks of it initially.This phenomenon proves that the more you learn in a certain field ,the more ignorant you will realize yourself to be about it .During you learning ,there are so many new questions rising in your brain that you are eager to acquire more new knowledge .Therefore ,you are propelled by these kinds of feelings to grope for more and dig deeper in the field .
The statements above also illuminate why the most modest ones are always the most learned masters while strongly conceited ones are those having half-baked knowledge .Only when people realize from the bottom of their heart that knowledge learning is endless and our human beings are insignificant before the sea of knowledge ,they will keep kstudying all their life .So the proper attitude of learning is very important .
In order to avoid becoming a frog in the well ,all of us should bear in mind a proverb that is "To live ,to study ".We should regard the masters as our examples and pursue knowledge for life .
