　　Computers sometimes can get you into trouble and the terrible words in English are “Our computer is down”. You hear it more and more in your daily life. One day, I was at the airport waiting for a ticket to Paris and the pretty girl in the booking office said , “I’m sorry, I can’t sell you a ticket . Our computer is down.”
　　“If your computer is not working , just write out a ticket.”
　　“But only the computer is allowed to do so.”
　　I looked around and found all the passengers just drinking coffee and looking at the dark screen, Then I asked her, “what do all your people do?”
　　“We give the computer the information about your trip, and then it tells us whether you can take this flight or not..”
　　“So if the computer doesn’t work , you don’t work either.”
　　“That’s right ,sir..”
　　“How long will it be down?” I wanted to know.
　　“Sorry , I have no idea. Sometimes it’s ten minutes, sometimes for two hours. I have no way to find out without asking the computer . but it’s down now. it will not answer me.”
　　“Is there any other flight to Paris in a few hours?”
　　“Sorry, I don’t know ,” she said, pointing at the dark screen . “Only it knows. It can’t tell me now, so I can’t answer you right now.”
　　What should I do? I was in trouble . it is clear that the trouble doesn’t come from the computer but the person who works on it.

　　“所以电脑坏了，你们也就闲着了。”
　　“是的，先生……”
　　“那么，宕机还有多长时间呢？”我想了解一下。
　　“抱歉，我也不清楚。有时候是10分钟，有时候是两小时。不询问电脑的话我也没法查明。但是它坏了，它不会回应我们。”
　　“那这几个小时里还有别的飞往巴黎的航班么？”
　　“抱歉我不知道，”她说着，指了指黯淡的（因为宕机而黑的）屏幕。“只有它知道，它现在告诉不了我，那我也就没办法立刻回答您的问题”。
　　我还能做什么呢？我遇到了麻烦。很明显问题没有出在电脑上而是出在了使用它的人上。
