what should I do if I am impatien person while reading long

what should I do if I am impatien person while reading long novels?
when I read a long novel,I am often easy to get
tired of it and I lack of patience.I can
hardly finish half of it before I abandon it.
what should I do and what skill don't I
have to read a big volumn?
for some classic novels, I have to read them
no matter how boring they are because I
am majored in English,I have to read some
difficult works such as Shakespear's or
Dickinson's.

cut a long novel into parts before reading it,tell yourself today you 'd better finish the first part,than the next day you finish the second part ,finally,you fulfill your tasks .
