Ok. In this book, Jean Valjean has been through 4 different characters. they are Jean Valjean, 24601, M. Madeleine,M Fauchelevent. When he is Jean Valjean, he is hard working,responsible, desperate and caring.
When he is 24601, he is dehumanized, criminalized, he is lacking of self control. He would stole something automatically. As he became M. Madeleine, he is benevolent, religious, spirtual, seeking redemption,generous,humble,ingenious. As he became M. Fauchelevent, he is a father figure to Cosette. Cosette is the center of his life. He Beca,e loving, caring and feel loved. He is not lonely anymore, infact, he feel he is depentable.

冉·阿让（jean valjean）是雨果的名著《悲惨世界》的男主角。一个伐木工人的儿子，他从小就成了孤儿，25岁时为了抚养姐姐的7个孩子而偷窃面包，被判苦役19年。出狱后被米里哀主教感化而成为一个善人，当上了市长。他乐善好施，满怀仁爱之心，收养了孤女珂赛特。后来，他因救助别人，遭到通缉，到处飘泊，受尽不白之冤，在痛苦和孤独中度过晚年，临终时才得到亲友的理解。 《悲惨世界》是由法国大作家维克多·雨果在1862年所发表的一部长篇小说，涵盖了拿破仑战争和之后的十几年的时间，是十九世纪最著名的小说之一。故事的主线围绕主人公土伦苦刑犯冉·阿让（jean valjean）的个人经历，融进了法国的历史、革命、战争、道德哲学、法律、正义、宗教信仰。多次被改编演绎成影视作品。
