A boy who played truant travelled 1,600 miles.He hitchhiked to Dover where he slept in a boat,only to

find himself in Calais the next morning.A lorry driver gave him a lift and something to eat,and the boy got

off near Paris.He stopped another car but,instead of being taken to Paris,he was taken to Perpignan on

the French-Spanish border.After being picked up by a policeman,he was sent home by the local

authorities.

(１）After an ancient bus had stopped by a dry river bed, a party of famous film stars descended. They

werｅdressed in dark glasses and old clothes so as not to be recognized. Two of the actors carried

somepicnic things to a shady spot and everyone sat down. Just then a sheriff arrived and told them

rudelythat they must leave because camping was not allowdd. Even when they told him who they were,

（1）A Plane crashed in the mountains but the only passengers,a woman and her baby daughters were not

hurt.it was the midwinter and extremely cold so she put the children in case,covered them with clothes

and kept herself close all night.When ｓｈｅ　ｈｅａｒｄ　ｐｌａｎｅｓ　ｅａｒｌｙ　ｎｅｘｔ　ｍｏ

ｒｎｉｎｇ, she stamped out 'sos' in snow.this was seen by a pilot who sent the message to the nearest

town and they were rescued by helicopter.

not hurt,however.it was the Mid-winter and extremely cold.After putting the children in a case and

covering them with the clothes,the woman kept her close to them all night.On hearing the planes pass

overhead on the next morning,the woman stamped out 'sos' in snow which was seen by pilot. Hfe sent a

message to the nearest town and they are rescued by the helicopter
