Computer Systems Word Exercise
The exercise is to work in a group to write an essay on a technology topic using Microsoft Word. Read the checklist below and ensure that each point is reflected in your document. If you are not sure how to activate any feature in WORD you can use the Help menu option.
Ø The essay should be 2-3 pages long. Topics will be handed out in class.
Ø Research your topic on the internet using a search engine such as Google. Make sure you reference the websites which you used at the end of your essay.
Ø Look in the library for books with information on your topic. Make sure you reference the books at the end of your essay.
Ø Keep the readers interest by including diagrams, photos etc. but remember to cite the origin (tell us where you got it !).
Ø The title should be centered in the middle of the page.
Ø Make sure all group members’ names are listed.
Ø Apply a header with your name and a footnote with the page number. This document has a header and footer at the top and bottom of the page.
Ø Use the spellcheck before you save the document
Ø Vary the font size for headings and subheadings.
Finally each team member should submit the group essay in a word file (.doc) for assessment.
