1.hunger: I am hungry. ( for a few hours) .我饿了（几个小时）
2.starve,starving,starvation:I was starving for a few days 我在挨饿了几天
3.famine:Famine is about the general shortage of food,not about the condition of the people.If there is a famine,people become hungry,and in the end they die of starvation or of disease caused by the lack of food - the famine. 饥荒=食物短缺; 不是肚子挨饿的情况.
4.结论:The famine brought widespread hunger to area and resulted in the death of thousands by starvation.
