Dragon Boat Festival（端午节）

5th day of the 5th lunar month

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by eating zong zi (glutinous rice（糯米）wrapped to form a pyramid using bamboo or reed leaves) and racing dragon boats.

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Double Fifth Festival(on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the lunar calendar), which is one of most important festival in China. The festival is to commemorate the death of a great patriotic poet, QU Yuan .
After seeing his motherland was invaded, Chu Yuan threw himself into the Miluo River to compose a magnificent patriotic movement. Later , people threw Zong zi into the river to feed his ghost every year.
Now, to celebrate the festival , people have many activity for it. The most important thing is the Dragon Boat Races.
