The positive and negative aspects of sports
“Life lies in motion”, Voltaire said. I can’t agree more. Sports do benefit us in many respects, such as aspects of physical, psychological and social.
In physical, it keeps us fit. Taking exercise will build up our physical strength, strengthen the our hearts and lungs’ functions, lower the chances of getting sick and in the long term, it will be one of the most efficient and positive ways of improving our physique.
In psychological, it reflects us with good feelings. Appropriate amount of sports can help us relax after a period of exhausting work, can decrease the intense and pressure on us, can improve the sleeping quality while tiredness is so good catalyst for sleeping and also it can assist us in keeping a positive mind towards life, inspire our creativity and initiative.
In social, sports bring us with teamwork and noble spirits. Participating in collective sports like basketball, volleyball, we will learn the importance of cooperation, so as a team member we can forgive more and dedicate more. In addition, we will try our best to win and arouse ourselves the competitive spirit while taking part in sports game.
However, as the saying goes, “Everything has two sides” and sports is without exception. In sports activities, we may hurt other players or ourselves if we are not careful enough. What’s worse, excessive or severe training can do harm to our health while iron deficiency is one of the symptoms caused by over-exercising. “Going too far is as bad as not going far enough”, so appropriate amount is very important.
My experience in sports tells me that advantages outweigh disadvantages of sports. It is a perfect way for people to know each other and can promote friendship between people. So long as we are carefully enough, sports can do us nothing but good.
