uptown和downtown是对反义词，downtown一般指城市的商业区（非住宅区），uptown就是指专门的住宅区，在国外高级住宅区一般是在城市外面的(或者说与商业区分开的），因为环境比较好（小时候地理课本好像学过），所以uptown girl应该就是指条件很好的富家女。uptown girl是美国的billy joel创作并演唱的（原唱的mv里面billy是个修车工，而girl是从劳斯莱斯里出来的/westlife翻唱版mv里的girl更不得了，德国名模claudia schiffer）中国好多人翻译成“窈窕淑女”。
