With the ‘Platinum Collection’,which contains more than 50 of Dana’s well loved hits and best songs,Dana Winner proves once again that she is one of the true great European female artists.
Dana’s international career was first launched in The Netherlands and Germany,and took a global turn when she was invited to go on tour in South Africa.The tour was a major success and her South African album went Platinum
One thing led to another,and Dana Winner released two albums “Unforgettable” (2001) and “Unforgettable Too” (2002),which topped the album charts in Germany,Austria,Denmark,Sweden,and which were granted several awards in South Africa and Belgium.
In 2005 “Beautiful life” was released.It was Dana’s first pop record,which was entirely sung in English.It became another international success.
In 2006 Dana considered it high time to give the fans that had been there from the very first moment,a real treat and record a new album in Dutch.In response to her version of the Dutch classic “Het dorp” (eng.The village) people were begging to hear more.The album features “Het dorp”,but also her most recent hit single “Kijk om je heen” (eng.Look around you) and the summer hit-to-be “Als je lacht”.The album reached the Gold status in a matter of weeks.
Believe it or not,but on top of this tight schedule,Dana found the time to create her own line of jewellery,which was launched in 2006 in the Netherlands and Belgium and in the fall of 2007 Dana launched her own eau de parfum,called ‘Aqua di Vinci’.
Dana Winner was born on 10 February 1965 in Hasselt (B),in a family with five kids.Her singing career started as she joined the local church choir and later on puts herself up for a sound mix competition,and wins.This is when she met Jean Klüger,who decides to be her guide.In 1989 Dana Winner scored her first hit with “Op het dak van de wereld”,her version of the 70s Carpenters classic On top of the world.
A series of hits came one after the other,the biggest of which was without any doubt “Woordenloos” (eng.Without words).The single topped the charts for months on end,making Dana Winner one of Flanders’ most popular artists.The Belgian TV audience voted her most popular female singer for five years consecutively.
In 1993 Dana released her first full album “Regenbogen” (eng.Rainbows).Every album she releases turns into a massive hit.So far she has sold over 1.8 million albums world wide.
Meanwhile Dana’s theatre tours are starting to be successful both in her own country and abroad.She has toured Belgium,The Netherlands and South Africa,and will tour in Germany for the first time in 2008.
