兴城 我的美丽家乡 英语作文

My hometown is a small village, which lies at the side of Liuxi river. Small as it is, it’s very beautiful.
But several years ago, people began to destroy the trees to make farmland. The soil was washed away by the rain. The water in the river was very dirty. Then people in my hometown realized the importance of keeping the balance of nature. They changed the farmland back into forests on the hills. Now , the water is clean and people can swim in it.
In the past ten years, great changes have taken place in my hometown. In the past, the families in my hometown were very poor. And people used to walk of ride bikes. But now, many people have moved into tall buildings, they can take buses or drive their own cars to work.
In my hometown, the air is fresh, the hills are green, the sky is blue, the water is sweet and the people are warm-hearted.
