Fresh spring the herald of loves mighty king,
新春啊，你这君临万方的爱神的先驱，
In whose cote armour richly are displayed
你的外衣富丽堂皇,展现出
All sorts of flowers the which on earth do spring
世间的繁花万朵，不胜枚举，
In goodly colours gloriously arrayed.
她那婀娜多姿的服装，耀人眼目。
Go to my love, Where she is carelesse laid,
找我的爱人去吧，她满不在乎，
Yet in her winters bowre:
她仍在她冬天的闺房里深睡不醒：
Tell her the joyous time will not be staid
告诉她：快乐的时光不会永驻，
Unlesse she do him by the forelock take,
除非她能把它牢牢地捏在手中；
Bid her therefore her selfe soon ready make,
嘱咐她要把一切的准备快快完成，
To wait on love amongst his lovely crew.
好去那一群丽人当中把爱神恭迎：
Where every one that misseth then her make,
谁若是还打动不了爱人的魂灵，
Shall be by him amercest with penance dew.
爱神就必定给他以应有的严惩。
Make hast therefore sweet love, whilest it is prime,
快抓住这甜蜜的爱，趁着青春时候，
For none can call againe the passed time.
青春一去难再，像是大海东流。
